ICR Group Secures $2m in USA Contracts
The US operation of ICR Group, a global leader in maintenance and integrity solutions, has secured contracts over $2 million since the start of the year.
The majority of the contracts were awarded for ICR’s renowned Technowrap and Quickflange products, highlighting the growing demand for cost-saving technologies.
Phil Patterson, Houston-based Business Development Director at ICR, said: “These contract awards highlight the exceptional performance of our products and our team’s dedication to delivering outstanding results for our clients.
“Our ability to provide innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs positions us well for further growth.”
ICR recently completed a major caisson repair project using its advanced Technowrap engineered composite repair system. The client faced a significant challenge due to the extensive amount of shutdown time and man-hours required for a traditional like-for-like steel replacement, which would have resulted in millions of dollars of lost production and revenue. However, by utilising Technowrap, the client was able to maintain full operating conditions throughout the repair process, avoiding the costly downtime typically associated with such projects.
As part of an ongoing campaign to maintain asset integrity, Technowrap has been utilised to address severe corrosion in the drip pans of a major client in the energy sector. The client faced significant challenges due to corrosion, which affected multiple areas of their equipment. Traditional steel replacement would have led to production interruptions and the decommissioning of equipment for extended periods, leading to substantial costs and operational delays.
For another project, Technowrap provided a solution that allowed a client to remain fully operational throughout the repair process. The engineering team at ICR developed a customised procedure to accommodate varying states of corrosion, ensuring a seamless installation and a robust repair. This innovative approach not only preserved the client’s operational efficiency but also offered a cost-effective and durable alternative to conventional steel repairs.
ICR’s Quickflange system is an innovative mechanical pipe connection technology that eliminates the need for welding, providing a safe, fast and efficient solution for joining pipes. Unlike traditional methods that require ‘hot work’, which involves using heat or sparks and can pose safety risks, Quickflange utilises a cold-work approach, allowing for installations without the need for welding or cutting. This makes it particularly advantageous in environments where ‘hot work’ is restricted or impractical.
In a recent drain line repair project, the client faced the challenge of replacing multiple sections of 12-inch and 14-inch piping due to severe corrosion. The restrictions associated with ‘hot work’ made traditional repair methods unfeasible, as they would have required extensive safety measures and potential production shutdowns.
Quickflange offered a practical alternative, enabling the client to perform the installation with 100% cold-work techniques. This approach not only ensured a safe working environment but also allowed the client to maintain full operational capacity throughout the repair process.
By using Quickflange, the client was able to achieve an 80% time saving compared to conventional pipe replacement methods, significantly reducing both downtime and costs. The technology’s ability to streamline installations while maintaining high safety standards highlights its effectiveness as a solution for complex piping challenges.
ICR continues to expand its presence globally, with offices in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, Norway, and Australia, supported by more than 25 partner agreements worldwide. The company’s focus on developing and delivering technology-led solutions enables it to advance asset inspection, repair and maintenance across various industries.
