Site Supervisor - Carnforth

We are looking for a full-time Site Supervisor to join the ICR team in Carnforth.

The Site Supervisor will be pro-active within the organisation in the undertaking of safe systems of work relevant to the operations requirements for the delivery of On-Site Machining solutions at our client in Barrow in Furness.

Overall this role will be based primarily in on site with the client but may on occasion involve working on other customer sites both overseas and offshore and will report to the site manager with regards to the day-to-day machining/engineering operations on site. 

The main tasks and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Liaise with Managers and Team Leaders to look at various jobs with a view to delivering timely solutions
  • Participate in sourcing necessary risk assessments and method statements
  • Create work packs for the Technicians
  • Liaise with the Site Manager and Operations Teams to co-ordinate manpower, equipment and identify and report any problems on site
  • Liaise with client managers, team leaders and service providers such as scaffolders, welders, etc
  • Carry out regular tool box talks, site inspections and audits, collecting Good To Go data, keeping track of machines on site and organising in house training for Technicians
  • Complete daily manning sheet for the client and ICR

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Health and Safety of technicians is maintained on site
  • Ensure good communication is maintained between site and Head Office
  • Responsible for machining and measuring equipment based on site, including the collection and return of such and reporting any faults where necessary
  • Report any accidents and incidents, bring to the immediate attention of management any work activity they feel to be unsafe and/or could cause injury or harm
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and standards and with legislative requirements
  • Stand in for the Site Manager, as required

The successful applicant should have the following:

Mandatory Skills and Training Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications / drawings
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Supervisory Skills
  • AutoCAD Training
  • Environmental and Quality Courses
  • Previous experience of manual machining essential

  • Personable, confident, well presented, extremely professional and in possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
