Senior Integrity Engineer

We are looking for a full time Senior Integrity Engineer to join the team in Aberdeen.

The Senior Integrity Engineer will be part of the Asset Integrity Management (AIM) team, to discover, articulate and execute sustainable commercial opportunities to enhance our software products. We are looking for a Senior Integrity Engineer with a unique skill set of integrity management and software solutions, able to work in a start-up environment.

This is an Aberdeen based role that works collaboratively with business stakeholders, commercial customers and development teams to define and deliver the product road-map in defined increments. This will include setting and verifying quality assurance (QA) standards to secure efficient ‘test driven development’ and consistent product quality.


The main tasks involved in the role are:

  • Understanding the market, including gathering and analysing industry trends, legislative requirements, competitor offerings and inbound market intelligence on customer’s wants, particularly around digitisation within asset integrity.
  • Technical in operational input to the definition of software product and strategy. Includes creating and maintaining a product road-map (defining agile ‘workpacks’ or high-level functional requirements) and a product backlog (defining detailed user requirements) for new developments.
  • Prioritise, define and bring the best inspection and integrity management opportunity into development in software format.
  • Prioritising product development by providing input and guidance to the development team and ensuring released functionality conforms to market requirements.
  • Coordinating the release of major functionality, contents, minimal viable product, working with marketing to create market messages, release plans, user guides and training material.
  • Assisting the AIM team in developing, implementing and maintaining organisational operating system.


The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the development team
  • To provide direction and clarity about technical product requirements and priorities.
  • To support marketing and commercialisation of the product.
  • To direct QA strategy and execution to secure consistent delivered product quality.
  • Development and implementation of new company procedures and processes for the product.

The successful applicant should have the following:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering/business discipline (Inspection, integrity, software)
  • Relevant, demonstrable experience with various integrity management software solutions (Coabis, Credosoft, Nexus, One)
  • Demonstrable experience working with inspection integrity management (pressure systems or subsea), API 510 and/or API 570 certification.
  • Experience with Risk Based Inspection Systems (RBA/RBI), Defect Elimination and Root Cause Analysis, Fitness for service Assessments, API 579, 580 & 581.
  • Familiar with QA/QC practices, NDE/NDT techniques, corrosion & materials, and risk-based analysis is essential. Experience with digital inspection techniques is desirable.
  • A demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges and take a product management (or product design) viewpoint on software components, considering market positioning, launch strategies and integrations with existing platforms or systems.
  • Highly commercial analytical skills, driven by a desire to find additional revenue pools and integrate diverse inputs to provide insights into product strategy and sources of profitability.
  • Understanding of software development and associated development methodologies.
  • The ability to motivate and lead a team, showing initiative, drive and determination to operate in an open and highly collaborative manner to maintain strong internal relationships and act as a critical linkage between the marketing/sales and technical teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, planning and organisational skills, as well as the ability to prioritise tasks, work calmly under pressure and handle conflict effectively.
  • Applicants should also have good IT, budget and report writing skills, hold a full driving licence and knowledge of marketing and branding.
  • Ability to operate as both a product manager (defining/maintaining a high-level product road-map and managing public releases) and product owner (defining/maintaining a detailed product backlog and validating internal release candidates) would be desirable.
  • Ability to build, implement and direct QA strategy to maintain consistent product quality across agile scrum-based development and delivery teams would be desirable.
