Project Engineer (NECE) - Aberdeen

We are looking for a full time Project Engineer to join the NECE team in Aberdeen.

The main purpose of the Project Engineer role is to work within the services delivery team to deliver and provide project management and technical support for integrity monitoring projects.

The role reports to the Project Manager.

The main tasks involved in the role are:

  • To assist the Project Manager in all corrosion monitoring scope planning and execution of work efficiently
  • Key customer account management in liaison with the Business Development Manager and attendance at client meetings
  • To liaise with the proposal team in reviewing sales quotations and pricing
  • Operational liaison with the microbiology services team, and operational support team
  • Assist with compiling job cards / picking list for project related equipment preparation and procurement
  • Assist with raising requisitions (PRs) in SAP and liaising with the procurement team to ensure purchase Orders (POs) are raised and issued, with lead times confirmed from suppliers
  • Coordinate with internal support functions for workshop, stores and logistical support
  • Carry out QC checks on equipment and consumables captured on the picking list against the work scope prior to dispatch
  • Compile workpacks, and attend pre-job toolbox talks and debriefs
  • Assist with providing technical support at project level
  • Internal review of final reports prior to approval and issuance to client
  • Assist with the assessment and competency of all offshore technicians
  • To assist with updating the project tracker when required
  • Lead and attend internal meetings in the absence of the Project Manager
  • Assist with reviewing and updating operational procedures, risk assessments and forms in the BMS
  • To go offshore as and when required
  • Working with the management team on operational improvements and researching new opportunities

The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Deliver all projects/scopes to the satisfaction of the client
  • Ensure adequate resource and competency of personnel to carry out projects/scopes
  • Compliance with all ICR HSEQ processes and standards
    Contribute to the development of procedures / processes as and when required


The successful applicant will hold a minimum of an HND in Mechanical Engineering discipline or similar. The candidate will have job specific technical training provided. Candidates should be a team player, have excellent communication, organisational, planning, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. They should have a positive attitude, outlook and be a self-starter. Candidates should be able to show initiative, drive and enthusiasm in their work. Candidates should have project delivery and management experience.
