We are looking for a full time Graduate Technical Support Engineer to join the Engineered Composites team in Aberdeen.

The Graduate Technical Support Engineer will assist in providing technical support to various projects, ensuring technical activities are performed in accordance with client specifications in a safe and efficient manner.

The main tasks and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Main tasks:
  • Assist with performing generic composite repair design calculations.
  • Support the Operations team in all aspects of products and on-going repair applications. This technical support will in some cases involve interaction and discussion with Clients.
  • Support the Sales team in all aspect of products and enquiries. This technical support will also involve interaction with the Client.
  • Support individual product internal research and development projects.
  • Support specialised projects for Client’s as required e.g. GRP pipe installations.

Key responsibilities:

  • To co-operate with Company requirements to ensure that statutory duties are met and to take care of self and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
  • To present a highly professional articulate and consistent management approach to the running of the business that is supportive to the ideals and expectations of company employees and Directors

Key skills, attributes and experience:

  • Mechanical, Materials, Composites or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent;
  • Ability to problem-solve and multi-task, as well as work to tight deadlines;
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organisation and external contacts;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external clients;
  • Experience in using a range of office software including, outlook, excel and databases;
  • Experience in Mathcad, Autocad and FEA software would be advantageous;
  • Strong organisation skills;
  • Presentation skills for internal and external clients;
  • Strong report writing skills;
  • Self starter that takes a collaborative approach and really enjoys working as part of a team;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and self-manage own workload;
  • Sets high standards in quality of work and excellent attention to detail.
