Design Draughtsperson - CIU - Aberdeen

We are looking for a full time Design Draughtsperson to join the CIU team, based in Aberdeen.

The role of the Design Draughtsperson is to work within the Operations team, to provide design engineering for rental and new build projects. This role will report to the Business Manager - CIU.

The main tasks include, but are not limited to:


  • Carry out design of the units, in accordance with relevant specifications.
  • Equipment modelling, piping/tubing layout, support design and cabling layout within a 3D environment.
  • Production of Bill of Materials.
  • Creating or revising Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design of units, including producing General Arrangement drawings, manufacturing drawings and bill of materials.
  • Compliance with all ICR HSEQ processes, standards and relevant specifications
  • To attend and participate in weekly prioritisation meetings
  • Preparation of plant layout and piping drawings and design deliverables to the required technical quality, with minimum input from engineering personnel.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:


  • HNC/HND or equivalent professional qualification
  • Previous relevant engineering experience
  • Extensive use of 3D modelling software (preferably Solidworks)
  • Experienced draughtsperson with sound technical background and in-depth knowledge of CAD draughting techniques
  • Team player
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Flexible
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
