Business Development Manager

We are looking for a full time Business Development Manager to join the ICR Sky-Futures business in the UK.

The Business Development Manager will establish business opportunities for ICR with a primary focus on Sky-Futures’ UAS Inspection and Survey Solutions of critical infrastructure for the Energy and Utility industries; obtaining new clients and fostering business relationships to increase revenue from sales. As part of this role there may be an element of account management involved.

The main tasks and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following:

Main tasks:

  • To deliver the Business Development strategy and secure revenues, in line with the annual business plan.
  • To develop and retain positive relationships with all new and existing customers and key partners.
  • To work closely with the Sales Team to agree on business development targets to successfully grow the pipeline of opportunities to achieve financial performance for Sky-Futures.
  • Develop specific strategies and tactics to pursue identified client targets.
  • Report on business opportunities for target clients and markets.
  • Develop a comprehensive pipeline of opportunities with a six month look ahead and ensure this is kept up to date on a weekly basis using the company sales system.
  • Adopt positive relationships within the wider ICR organisation.
  • To support the wider ICR business strategy.
  • To positively and professionally represent ICR at conferences, trade shows and networking events with an aim to continually gather intelligence and feedback to the business using the appropriate tools.
  • To travel as required with the position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering or exceeding an annual revenue target and personal objectives.
  • Develop and retain positive relationships with new and existing customers and foster positive relationships within the ICR organisation
  • Generating high potential opportunities
  • Document client and industry information and competitor analysis 
  • Develop a comprehensive pipeline of opportunities
  • Follow the Sky-Futures Service Realisation process
  • Recognise and adhere to all Company and HSEQ policies and procedures both internally and externally

Key skills, attributes and experience:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Business Development and commercial management knowledge
  • Knowledge and understanding of Inspection and/or survey requirements
  • Sales and negotiation skills
  • Previous sales or client facing operational experience
  • Experience or knowledge of UAS/ Robotics in an inspection or survey environment is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
  • Strong ability to build long term relationships
  • The ability to cold call and generate meetings
  • Positive attitude and outlook
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Good IT, budgeting and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of marketing and branding
  • A full driving license is a mandatory requirement
  • Ability to travel domestically as required
